Neurocritical Care

We have a well equipped, state of the art 11 bed dedicated Neuro-ICU run by a multidisciplinary team of specially trained physicians, nurses, therapists, and other professionals providing collaborative coordinated, and attentive care in a unique environment. We have the latest generation ventilators, syringe pumps, infusion pumps, multi para monitors with IBP, EtCO2 and ICP monitoring, Defibrillators and ECG machines.

In patients with catastrophic brain and spinal cord injury or disease, our team determines the most appropriate goals for the patient's care. Treatment decisions are made by a multidisciplinary team comprised of neurointensivists, neurosurgeons, interventional neurologists, vascular surgeons and physicians in related subspecialties. In the Neuro-ICU, this advanced level of experienced, responsive, and personalized care helps our patients move forward to the next phase of recovery.

Our neurosciences intensive care specialists have expertise in the management of many neurological disorders, including:

  • Ischemic Stroke
  • Hemorrhagic Stroke including Intracerebral hemorrhage, Subarachnoid hemorrhage ( traumatic and aneurysm rupture), delayed cerebral ischemia due to SAH, Subdural hemorrhage, epidural hemorrhage and intraventricular hemorrhage
  • Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis

General Critical Care

  • Cardiovascular

    Management of shock, myocardial ischemia (including stunned myocardium), arrhythmias, pulmonary edema, hypertensive emergencies

  • Renal

    Fluid, electrolytes, renal failure, indications for and approach to dialysis (and other modes of renal replacement therapy), drug dosing in renal failure, rhabdomyolysis, neurogenic disorders of sodium/water regulation including hyponatremia from SIADH, cerebral salt wasting, diabetes insipidus

  • Hematologic

    Reversal of coagulopathies including anticoagulation, use of PCC, Venous thromboembolism prophylaxis and treatment

    Hypoxemic and hypercapnic respiratory failure, ARDS, pneumonia, COPD
